Curriculum
Whether on a stage or in the woods, these are the topics we try to cover:
-
Hunting styles and adaptations of wild raptors
-
Natural history of raptors in our local region
-
Falconry apprenticeships and raptor-care careers
-
Bird-training methods and techniques
-
Where to see local hawks, falcons, and owls
-
How to protect our most at-risk raptor species
Training Methods
We are cognizant of modern professional standards for the humane and enriching treatment of raptors in captivity. Our birds are trained with operant conditioning methods that prioritize positive reinforcement and the animal's autonomy. Training is always a two-way conversation between a person and bird.
What to Bring & Wear

-
Shade may be limited. Consider bringing sunscreen, a hat, and/or sunglasses.
-
Please feel free to bring your own water and snacks.
-
Please do not wear clothing with faux or real fur trim.
Cancellation
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule your upcoming booking.

Occasionally, we may ask to reschedule your experience. Our California climate is usually mild year-round, but we may need to reschedule due to rain, excessive heat, or unsafe air quality. Additionally, our birds are wild animals, and we fly these birds with a high degree of freedom in a wild environment; there may be days the birds aren't able to perform as desired. Thank you for understanding.
